Description: This is an introductory music technology course that explores a variety of equipment, software, and production techniques used in the digital production of music. This class is very much like a Laboratory class, where students will apply concepts learned to their own personal music creations. The course includes the study of sequencing, recording techniques, sampling and loop creation, arranging, mixing and editing, virtual studio technology, electronic keyboards, and music notation software. The course is intended to give students a balanced introduction to the major areas of study within the field of music technology. Required: Laptop computer with basic music recording software.
