Game Design 1

Description: Students will gain a general understanding of video game design and game development using Unity. We will begin by creating a customizable 2D adventure game, through which students will learn the foundations of the Unity editor and C# scripting. Then, students will conceive of and develop their own game concepts and we will explore further topics as they pertain to student creations. This class will serve as a foundation for a more advanced Game Design class in the spring. No prior experience with programming is necessary to take this course. Students should have a laptop that is compatible with the latest version of Unity (system requirements can be found on the downloads page here: Students will ideate, script, produce, and present projects both individually and collaboratively.
