Visual Storytelling

Instructor: Phil Paternite
DescriptionStudents will examine the ways visual storytelling influences us, both aesthetically and commercially, as artists, consumers and citizens. The principles of composition, lighting, editing and sound will be explored through presentations and short film productions in a variety of different genres. Students will ideate, script, produce, and present projects both individually and collaboratively.

All levels of experience welcome. No equipment requirements – iPhones to DSLR cameras will work, however knowledge of basic editing programs will be needed. If you do have a more extensive background in film production, your skills will be gladly put to good use.
