Academic Overview

We believe that a liberal arts education provides the foundation students need to become informed, thoughtful, and active members of society.

Our academic program is interactive and rigorous. There is no back row; class sizes average 10-12 students, and the academic culture is one of active discourse, collaboration, and accountability.

College Prep & College Ready

All core classes have a level of rigor that prepares students for success in college. For students already eager to take on college-level work, Advanced Placement (AP) programs are offered across the curriculum.

Because we are so artsy, sometimes people get the wrong impression about our academic program; the academic workload is serious, and our academic programs are strong across the curriculum. We send a lot more students on to STEM majors than to art school. Really.

Where Do We Go From Here?

No matter what discipline they pursue, Griffin School graduates are prepared for success in collegiate academics and for an active and reflective life that is full of new learning. Want a sense of the colleges and universities our students attend?
