Griffin’s approach centers whole-student development through rigor, creativity, and close connection.
We believe students learn best in an interactive liberal arts environment where they are active participants in their education. Our academic program combines rigor, creativity, and close faculty engagement to help students think critically, communicate clearly, and grow with confidence. With class sizes averaging 10–12 students, Griffin fosters a culture of discourse, collaboration, and accountability.
College Prep & College Ready
All core classes have a level of rigor that prepares students for success in college. For students already eager to take on college-level work, Advanced Placement (AP) programs are offered across the curriculum.
Because we are so artsy, sometimes people get the wrong impression about our academic program; the academic workload is serious, and our academic programs are strong across the curriculum. We send a lot more students on to STEM majors than to art school. Really.
AP Platinum!
For the third year in a row, Griffin School has earned Platinum recognition by the College Board! AP Platinum status is awarded based on:
1. College Culture: 100% of students in the Griffin School Class of 2025 took at least one AP exam
2. College Credit: 93% of those students scored 3+ on any AP exam
3. College Optimization: 63% took 5 or more AP exams in high school where at least one of those exams was taken in 9th or 10th grade.
We are super proud of this streak, of our remarkable students who embrace challenging work, and the teachers who inspire, guide, and support them.
