APPLICATION PROCESS

As a prospective student and family, the place to learn more about Griffin School and start an application is at an open house. Our fall open house events are scheduled for Thursday, September 22, 5:30-7pm, Thursday, October 20, 5:30-7pm and Thursday, November 17, 5:30-7pm. If you’d like to attend one of those dates, let us know at admissions@griffinschool.org. We also offer group tours each Thursday morning at 9am. RSVP here and let us know which Thursday works for you. If you’d like to set up an individual meeting with our Admissions Director to check out the school further and get a sense whether our philosophy, programs, and environment look like a good fit for your student, give us a call at 512-454-5797.

Five Easy Steps:

  1. Complete a Student and Parent Application Form.
  2. Submit a current transcript and any other relevant academic or psychological assessments or evaluations that you have.
  3. Pay the $50 application fee.
  4. Schedule a day for your son or daughter to be at Griffin School for an interview with the Admissions Committee (made up of our Admissions Director and two student representatives) and to attend a day of classes hosted by one of our current students.
  5. Register for your student to take the ISEE test or arrange an academic assessment at Griffin School. We accept either test.

This might sound like a lot, but it is really a pretty straight-forward and simple process that can be completed in a day or two if needed. Just give us a call and our Admissions Director will walk you through the application process.

Deadlines
If you are interested in applying for the current 2016-17 year, we do have spots available in our 9th grade class. For 2017-18 applicants, our early decision deadline is December 20, 2016 and our standard deadline is March 17, 2017.  We do accept applications on a rolling basis until a class is full. Our deadline for financial aid applications is March 17th, 2017.  For 2017-18 applicants, you can schedule to take the ISEE in Austin by clicking here and sending your scores to Griffin School. Alternately, you can register for a Griffin School Assessment on December 4th, 2016 at noon or December 17, 2016 at 9am. We are currently scheduling shadow days for prospective students on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays, from late-September through mid-May.  Contact our Admissions Director to schedule a tour, shadow day or set up a time to meet: admissions@griffinschool.org.

Tuition
We make every attempt to help families work through the financial barriers that often arise when considering private school tuition expenses. Let us work with you on the financing options that are available. Various tuition payment plans and low-interest tuition loans are offered. In addition, families with financial need may apply for tuition assistance in the spring for the following school year. For specific information about current tuition rates, payment schedules, loan programs, and tuition assistance, download a 2016-17 tuition form here.

International Students
Griffin School welcomes international student applicants who would like to study in the United States! We are approved to provide I-20 student visas to international students once they have completed the application process and are accepted.
